#7WondersOfMC: The Montecarlo Casino

The Montecarlo Casino, one of the most iconic monuments and building of the Principality is the second "Wonder" of Monaco that we are going to present in our series #7WondersOfMC. Information: The Casino is open every day from 14:00. In order to enter the casino you must be dressed accordingly (no shorts, no sport shoes, no flip flops and after 20:00 you must wear a jacket). In order to access the Casino you must be aged 18 and over. The entrance costs 10 euros, and additional 10 euros will enable you to play in the private rooms.
Fact: There are a total of 7 rooms in which you may play in the casino. They are the Salle Renaissance (Slot Machines), Salle Europe (Slot Machines, Black Jack, English + French Roulette, Baccara and Trente/Quarante), Salle des Ameriques (Slot Machines), Salle Blanche (Black Jack, English + French Roulette, Baccara and Texas Holdem), Salle Touzet (Baccara, Texas Holdem and Black Jack), Super Prives (Whatever you wish to play) and Salle Medicin (same as Salle Europe).

Fact: The Casino is owned by the Societe des Bains de Mer, a state owned company that runs 5 casinos (amongst which the Montecarlo Casino), 4 Hotels, 32 Restaurants, The Monaco Spa and 3 clubs. The company is one of the biggest employers in Monaco and was founded in 1863.
History: The Casino was inaugurated, in the spring of 1863 as part of Florestan I project of transforming Monaco into a luxury destination.

Fact/History: Throughout its history the casino had hundreds of VIP visitors (this does not mean players), some of the most illostrious are Sir Winston Churchill, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Rita Hayworth, Michèle Morgan and Cary Grant.
History: The man behind this world-renowned gaming centre, without which the layout and particularity of this country would simply not be the same, is François Blanc, founder of the Société des Bains de Mer.
